Product Description: The SEMV8 is part of the SmartStream interactive digital cable system which consists of integrated stream processing elements necessary for deployment of advanced services like VOD and digital ad insertion. The SEMV8 provides for up to 8 multiplexes of processing functionality in a single RU package using 4 upconverters with 2 multiplexes each. It significantly lowers the barrier to entry to an on-demand environment, providing high-speed interfaces to servers and content aggregation systems; the SEM performs multiplex creation, encryption, 64/256QAM modulation, upconversion, and edge configuration for on demand applications.

Supports QAM modulation (64/256) for ITU J.83 A,B, and C. Supported input formats include GbE and DVB-ASI1. Supported output formats include QAM, GbE, and DVB-ASI. Supports MPEG-2 multiplexing and PSI generation, 4 RF output ports (8 QAM output transport streams), 3 bi-directional GbE interfaces (SFP modules)
