Used Juniper E-Series Broadband Service Routers Network Equipment

The E-series consists of IP edge and broadband services routing platforms is a critical element in the control, delivery and accounting of services at the network edge. The E-series includes six different models: E320 BSR and E120 BSR platforms; the mid-range ERX-1440 and ERX-1410 platforms; and the compact ERX-710, ERX-705 and the ERX-310. All E-series platforms utilize a single version of the proven JUNOS operating system which ensures operational consistency.

 

Used Juniper's E-series of IP edge and broadband services routing platforms includes six different models that are designed to efficiently address the widest variety of service provider requirements. The specific models include the high-capacity E320 BSR and E120 BSR platforms; the mid-range ERX-1440 and ERX-1410 platforms; and the compact ERX-710, ERX-705 and ERX-310. All E-series platforms utilize a single version of the proven JUNOSe operating system, which ensures both feature and operational consistency.

 

Powered by the mature and broadly deployed JUNOSe, the E-series portfolio helps service providers migrate from basic "best effort" IP services to exciting new, high value multiplay services that bundle a broad set of IP voice, video and data applications. JUNOSe, with its carrier-grade architecture, underpins the reliable and efficient delivery of advanced services to both business and residential broadband customers. In addition, JUNOSe is fully integrated with Juniper's Session and Resource Control portfolio for automated service creation and policy-driven control of network resources.

 

With an unsurpassed combination of powerful hardware packet processing and software flexibility, the E-series portfolio and JUNOSe provides the performance, scale and "always on" availability required at the network edge. Deployed in hundreds of production networks worldwide, the E-Series portfolio is relied on by service providers for its predictable high performance and service flexibility. These routers cost-effectively address subscriber management, edge routing and service aggregation requirements at carrier scale.

It also provides: cost-effective subscriber connections for DS1 and DS0 services over a channelized interface, supports all major private line protocols, including Frame Relay, PPP, HDLC, multilink PPP and Frame Relay; and scales to support the aggregation of over 4,000 T1s in a single chassis, and over 12,000 T1s in a single rack.

The ERX-GE-MOD supports a 2 port Gigabit Ethernet IOA, line rate forwarding, and services such as VLAN tagging (802.1Q).
