FastIron SuperX Family Series
Foundry FastIron SuperX and SuperSX family of Power over
Ethernet (PoE) - ready Layer2 / Layer 3 switches provide secure
Ethernet IP services infrastructures. They come in three chassis
models. It delivers a VoIP-ready infrastructure. Foundry's
IronWare networking intelligence is designed for service
providers - they feature advanced Layer 2 services. They have up
to 384 10/100/1000 Mbps Class 3 PoE ports with N + 1 PoE power
supply redundancy for the industry's most powerful convergence
solution. It combines SP/WRR queuing and cell-based switch
fabric for ensuring low latency and jitter in voice and video
traffic. It supports IEEE 802.1AB LLDP and ANSI TIA 1057 LLDP-MED
standards.
FastIron GS Series
Foundry GS Power over Ethernet (P0E) Series are compact
switches designer for high-performance networking. They have 10
Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) and redundant power in a 1.5 RU form
factor. This family of switches supports features 1+1 power
redundancy using hot-swappable and field-replaceable power
modules. The load-sharing power supplies provide full 1+1
redundancy for as many as 48 ports of Class 1 and Class 2 PoE
and 31 of Class 3 (15.4 watts) ports.
FastIron Workgroup Edge X Series
Foundry FastIron Workgroup X424 come with 24 port 10/100/1000
copper, 4-part combo Gigabit Ethernet, and field upgradeable to
include a 1-port or 2-port 10GbE expansion module that supports
SR, LR, ER, ZR, ZRD, CX4, and 10G-XFP-2420-MMF XFP optics. The
FastIron Workgroup X448 consists of 48-port 10/100/1000 copper,
4-port combo Gigabit Ethernet, and field upgradeable to include
a 1-port or 2-port 10GbE expansion module that supports SR, LR,
ER, ZR, ZRD, CX4, and 10G-XFP-1310-MMF XFP optics.
FastIron Edge Switch Series
Foundry FastIron Edge Switches support Power over Ethernet (PoE)
demands and come in PoE-enabled versions that support
802.3af-powered devices. The FastIron Edge 12GCF Series deploys
multiservice Gigabit Ethernet technology to seamlessly aggregate
wiring closet switches and easily interconnect the wiring closet
to the enterprise backbone.
FastIron Edge X Series
Foundry FastIron Edge X Series combine 10/100/1000, 100/1000
SFP and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) as they simplify network
management complexity. This series includes advanced Layer 2
features such as Metro Ring Protocol, 802.1x, Q-n-Q, complete
quality of service (QoS) controls including prioritization and
rate limiting, Foundry's IronShield for denial of service
protection, and base Layer 3 routing capabilities.
FastIron LS Series
Foundry FastIron LS switches are Layer 2 access switches.
They combine 10/100/1000 Mbps desktop connectivity,
upgradeability to 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks, enterprise-class
security, wire-speed performance, and advanced Layer 2 services
in a compact, one RU (1RU) high and 12.92"/33 cm deep switch
design. They are ideal for applications that require secure and
high-performance 10/100/1000 Mbps endpoint connectivity and the
flexibility to upgrade to one or more ports of 10GbE in a
compact form factor. They are best suited for: small to midsize
businesses, gigabit to the desktop, VoIP, video conferencing
over IP, server farm connectivity, network storage connectivity,
military installations, and hospitals, schools, and hospitality.
FastIron Edge Series PoE Series
Foundry FastIron Edge Series PoE Series comes with 802.3af
Power Over Ethernet and supports ports up to 480W of PoE power.
Ease-of-use features including auto-detection of PoE and non-PoE
devices, power priority, separate PoE LEDs, and comprehensive
PoE statistics per port and per system. They also have
intelligent traffic control using Quality of Service to
prioritize voice and video traffic and rate-limiting to manage
bandwidth usage.
