Voice or fax traffic is transported by Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or by Voice over Asynchronous Transport Protocol (VoATM). All platforms support Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP), the signaling protocol H.323, and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
