The Cisco DPA 7610 and DPA 7630 Voice Mail Gateways
enable legacy voicemail equipment, specifically the Octel 200 and
300 (Serenade) and the Octel 250 and 350 (Aria) working with the
Nortel Meridian 1 PBX and the Avaya Definity PBX, to connect to a
Cisco Unified Communications system network. The Cisco Unity system
supports several networking options to traditional voice messaging
systems, including Audio Messaging Interchange Specification (AMIS),
Voice Protocol for Internet Mail (VPIM) and the Cisco Unity Bridge
for even tighter integration with Avaya/Octel voicemail systems.
Alternatively, customers can support their traditional voicemail
system through Simple Messaging Desktop Interface (SMDI) integration
via a direct connection to a Cisco Unified CallManager server or
using the Cisco VG248 Analog Voice Gateway.
