The Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3040 for the Fujitsu Siemens Primergy Advanced Blade Ecosystem is an integrated switch. It ensures consistency across the network for advanced services such as security and resiliency, and it allows end-to-end Cisco management framework to simplify ongoing operations.  The # WS-CBS3020-HPQ decreases cable complexity in the interconnect and reduces space requirements by optimizing rack space use. It also improves management at the server edge by using the Cisco management framework as it secures business assets with Cisco IOS Software security features. This Cisco Blade Switch enhances operational efficiency with consistent services deployment.

Overview: Sixteen internal 1000BASE ports connected to servers through the c-Class BladeSystem backplane; Up to eight external Gigabit Ethernet uplink ports: – Four external dual-media Ethernet interfaces. Interfaces can be either 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX/LH Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) or 10/100/1000BASE-T ports. The SFP cage supports Gigabit Ethernet Fiber short-wavelength SFP modules from Cisco Systems. – Four additional external 10/100/1000BASE-T ports. Two of these ports can be configured to provide an internal crossover connection to an associated additional Cisco Catalyst Blade Switch 3020. One Fast Ethernet connection to the HP Enclosure Onboard Administrator; One external console port.
