Used Cisco Distributed Forwarding Card for 6700 Series Switching Module
Part # WS-X6708-10G-3C
Product Description:
Cisco ME 3400 Series and 6700 Series -
The Cisco WS-X6708-10G-3C is an 8-port 10 GbE module: 200 MB per
port. The scheduler is Shaped Round Robin (SSR) in egress which
allows for efficient handling of bursty traffic. The
differentiated services code point (DSCP)-based queue mapping
allows both ingress and egress queuing based on Layer3 TOS and
provides granular classes of traffic. By default, it comes
1 GB DRAM which allows for a large storage forwarding table.
The 8-port 10 Gigabit
Ethernet module with DFC3C for the # WS-X6708-10G-3C power
requirements are 444.36W (10.58A @ 42V). The 8-port 10 Gigabit
Ethernet module with DFC3CXL for the # WS-X6708-10G-3CXL power
requirements are 473.76W (11.82A @ 42V).
The WS-X6708-10G-3C and WS-X6708-10G-3CXL are 8-port 10GbE
modules that have 40 Gbps connection capabilities and can
demonstrate up to 64 Gbps local switching. The distributed
forwarding card (DFC) can forward traffic at 48 Mpps. To provide
40 Gbps local switching, you can use only half the ports.
The default memory for both WS-X6708-10G-3C and
WS-X6708-10G-3CXL is 1 GB DRAM. The WS-X6708-10G-3C comes with a
3C distributed forwarding card (WS-F6700-DFC3C) and supports
256K routes; and the WS-X6708-10G-3CXL comes with a 3CXL
distributed forwarding card (WS-F6700-DFC3CXL). The Catalyst 6500 Series 10
Gigabit Ethernet modules are designed for deployment in the
distribution and core of campus and data center for traffic
aggregation or for interbuilding, points of presence (POPs), WAN
edge, and MAN connections. These modules support IEEE 802.3ad
link aggregation and Cisco EtherChannel technology for
fault-tolerant connectivity and bandwidth scalability of up to
80 Gbps per EtherChannel connection. In addition, they support
hardware based quality of service (QoS), access control lists (ACLs),
and jumbo frames to enable secure and predictable performance
for bandwidth-intensive applications.
The Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Distributed
Forwarding Card 3 (DFC3) is an optional daughter card for
CEF720-based line cards. The DFC3 provides localized forwarding
decisions for each line card and scales the aggregate system
performance to reach up to 400 mpps. The DFC3BXL offers
enhancements to support Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and
Access Control Entries (ACE) counters on the Cisco 6700 Series
line cards. The DFC3BXL also has improved
scalability to support one million IPv4 routes and 256-KB
NetFlow entries.
