Product Description: Cisco 8600 Series - WAN Equipment includes BPX 8620, MGX 8850, 7204LSC, BCC-4V-R. The BPX 8680-IP scalable Layer 2/Layer 3 WAN solution integrating the proven multiservice switching technology of the Cisco BPX 8650 switch with the flexibility and scalability of the Cisco MGX 8850. The MGX 8850 switch serves as an edge concentrator to the BPX 8650, which employs the BPX 8600 series switch modular, multishelf architecture to enable scalability. The BPX 8650 switch includes a Cisco 7204 label switch controller (LSC) and supports multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) for New World integrated infrastructures.

The BPX 8600 Series is comprised of the Cisco BPX 8620 for broadband ATM services, the BPX 8650 Multiservice switch which supports broadband and MPLS for IP services, and the BPX 8680 Universal Service Node which offers broadband, narrowband and MPLS services.

Cisco BPX 8600 Series multiservice wide-area edge switches provide a scalable set of solutions to cost-effectively deliver ATM, Frame Relay, voice, circuit emulation and IP services in medium sized PoPs or small COs.
