Used Brocade FC-AL SWITCH FOUR IN STOCK!!!

Part # BR-3852-0001

Product Description: 16 port VL2 SW: 2 fixed PS, 16 SFP,  AWT, ADZ.

Brocade extends the SilkWorm 3850 switch family with SilkWorm 3852 fabric switch model, enabling the deployment of SAN fabrics ranging in size from one to four switches. This additional SilkWorm switch model offers low-cost connectivity while providing an easy upgrade path in both fabric size and new features to address changing business requirements and protect technology investments.

Today's data centers should enable any server to be assigned to any service. The VL2 is a practical network architecture that scales to support huge data centers with uniform high capacity between servers, performance isolation between services, and Ethernet Layer-2 semantics. VL2 uses: at addressing to allow service instances to be placed anywhere in the network,  Valiant Load Balancing to spread traffic uniformly across network paths, and end-system based address resolution to scale to large server pools without introducing complexity to the network control plane. VL2’s design is driven by detailed measurements of traffic and fault data from a large operational cloud service provider. VL2’s implementation leverages proven network technologies, already available at low cost in high-speed hardware implementations, to build a scalable and reliable network architecture. As a result, VL2 networks can be deployed today, and we have built a working prototype.

What is an FC-AL Switch? A FC-AL Switch contains an arbitrated loop and uses Fibre Channel topology. Devices are connected in a one-way loop fashion in a ring topology. Historically it was a lower-cost alternative to a fabric topology. It allows connection of many servers and computer storage devices without using the very expensive Fibre Channel switches. It is still commonly utilized on backend of some disk array controllers.
